Changes to Car Parking at Eden Square

15/12/2009

Changes and extended opening hours at Eden Square car park in Urmston mean people visiting Urmston in the evening won't have to pay to park and can stay longer.

Under the previous charging system the first three hours were free and then a charge applied for anything over that time, with the car park closing at 23.30 Monday- Saturday and 22.30 on Sundays. Visitors are now able to park after 6pm in the evening 7 days a week and stay until anytime up to 2am without having to pay.

The exit barriers will remain open until 2am but visitors will still need to collect a ticket on entering the car park.

Executive Councillor Mike Cornes said: "Feedback about the facilities at Eden Square has been positive and the Council and Ask Developments want to make sure people can enjoy what is on offer in the evenings. These changes mean people can visit the bars and restaurants in the town whilst being able to park safely, securely and for free."
