On a very cold Autumn morning, a large group of volunteers planted 1000 bulbs for Urmston in Bloom in Golden Hill Park.
Over the last two weeks Amey carried out essential Winter pruning and the removal of overgrown bushes to prepare the ground for the volunteers. In the spring there should be a host of golden daffodils and other spring flowers.
Trafford Council has embarked on an ambitious new plan to bring a University to Stretford, partnering with Lancaster University and the Class of 92.

A topic that is regularly raised with your Conservative team is the condition of some of our roads and pavements. Trafford Council has agreed to spend an additional £600,000 this year to fix more potholes and mend our roads.
Urmston Market which is located between Railway Road and Primrose Avenue has been bought by a developer. The developer has applied for planning permission to build a new food hall and Trafford Council have approved the application.
The very popular artisan markets will continue on the 1st Saturday of the month.
Stretford and Urmston Conservatives have welcomed ‘Free After Three’ car parking in all Council owned car parks for Christmas.
As we enter the festive period your local Conservative team are encouraging people to shop local and support our town centres. In order to help, Trafford Council will provide free car parking after 3pm in Council-run car parks.
The scheme will run between the 18th of November and the 17th of January 2018 in a move designed to boost our town centres, help them continue to thrive and will be be operational across the whole of Trafford.
Urmston has beneffitted from free parking at Eden Square since the redelevopment and this move will help encourage shoppers in to our town centre.
