On a very cold Autumn morning, a large group of volunteers planted 1000 bulbs for Urmston in Bloom in Golden Hill Park.

Over the last two weeks Amey carried out essential Winter pruning and the removal of overgrown bushes to prepare the ground for the volunteers. In the spring there should be a host of golden daffodils and other spring flowers.


UA92 – A University for Trafford

Trafford Council has embarked on an ambitious new plan to bring a University to Stretford, partnering with Lancaster University and the Class of 92.

University Academy 92 (UA92) was first conceived by the group of former Manchester United players, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville. UA92 will have a strong focus on personal development to ensure students are given the skills needed to make them employable once they graduate, with a strong focus on personal development. Free after three parking for Christmas

Stretford and Urmston Conservatives have welcomed ‘Free After Three’ car parking in all Council owned car parks for Christmas.

As we enter the festive period your local Conservative team are encouraging people to shop local and support our town centres. In order to help, Trafford Council will provide free car parking after 3pm in Council-run car parks.

The scheme will run between the 18th of November and the 17th of January 2018 in a move designed to boost our town centres, help them continue to thrive and will be be operational across the whole of Trafford.

Urmston has beneffitted from free parking at Eden Square since the redelevopment and this move will help encourage shoppers in to our town centre.
